On the morning of 29 June 2026, the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade (VIOIT) held the Institutional-Level Evaluation of the Doctoral Dissertation of Doctoral Candidate Dao Ha My at its headquarters, located at 17 Yet Kieu Street, Hanoi.
The dissertation, entitled "Development of Commercial Advertising Activities on Television in Vietnam," was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics, majoring in Commercial Business (Code: 09.34.01.21), under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy and Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi.
The Institutional Doctoral Dissertation Evaluation Committee was established pursuant to Decision No. 554/QD-CLCS, issued by the Director of VIOIT on 29 April 2026. The Committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi, National Economics University, Chair; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lich, Senior Expert, VIOIT, Reviewer 1; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Phuong, Thuongmai University, Reviewer 2; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Thanh, Senior Expert, VIOIT, Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Quyen, Foreign Trade University, Member; Dr. Do Quang, VIOIT, Member; and Dr. Dang Cong Hien, VIOIT, Secretary. The evaluation session was attended by the Institute's leadership, academic staff, researchers, and invited scholars.
Doctoral Candidate Dao Ha My presented the principal contents and key findings of the dissertation, covering three main areas: the theoretical foundations of commercial advertising on television and relevant international experience; an analysis of the current situation of commercial advertising on television in Vietnam; and proposed policy orientations and recommendations to promote the development of commercial advertising activities on television in the country.
Following the presentation, the Committee conducted a comprehensive academic review of the dissertation. Committee members provided comments, evaluations, and constructive recommendations on the dissertation's theoretical framework, research methodology, analytical findings, and policy implications, while offering academic guidance to support the candidate in revising and further strengthening the dissertation.
Following its deliberations, the Committee concluded that the dissertation addresses a research topic of both theoretical and practical significance, demonstrates originality without overlapping previously published research, and fulfils the academic requirements in terms of both content and presentation for a doctoral dissertation in the field of Commercial Business.
At the conclusion of the evaluation session, the Committee unanimously agreed that, subject to revisions in accordance with its recommendations, the dissertation would be eligible for defense before the Institute-level Doctoral Dissertation Examination Committee in accordance with the Institute's doctoral training regulations.
