Hanoi, May 15, 2026 – The Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade (VIOIT) solemnly held its 2026 Doctoral Degree Award Ceremony at its headquarters in Hanoi, marking a significant milestone in the academic journeys of eight newly conferred doctors and reaffirming the Institute’s role in developing high-quality human resources for the industry and trade sector.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan, Chairman of the National Competition Commission. Representing VIOIT were Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Director of the Institute; Deputy Directors Dr. Nguyen Khac Quyen and Dr. Le Hai An; together with members of the Science and Training Council, professors, associate professors, dissertation supervisors, examiners, and distinguished scholars.
Pursuant to Decision No. 589/QD-CLCS dated May 6, 2026, issued by Dr. Hoang Truong, Standing Member of the Science and Training Council, VIOIT officially conferred doctoral degrees upon eight researchers who successfully completed their doctoral studies and fulfilled all academic requirements. In his keynote address, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi highlighted the increasingly important role of scientific research, innovation, and knowledge-based development in Vietnam’s socioeconomic transformation. He emphasized that the nation’s development aspirations in the new era require a highly qualified workforce capable of generating innovative solutions and contributing to sustainable growth.
Congratulating the graduates, Dr. Hoi expressed confidence that the newly awarded doctors would continue to uphold academic integrity, advance scientific inquiry, and make meaningful contributions to the development of the industry and trade sector as well as the country’s broader modernization efforts.
Representing the graduates, Dr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Trade Promotion Agency, delivered remarks reflecting on the significance of the occasion. He noted that earning a doctoral degree represents not only the culmination of years of dedicated study and rigorous research but also the beginning of a new responsibility to generate, disseminate, and apply knowledge for the benefit of society.
“Receiving this doctoral degree is a meaningful milestone that recognizes a long journey of perseverance and scholarly dedication. While this challenging academic journey has reached its conclusion, it also marks the beginning of a new mission—to advance knowledge, foster innovation, and contribute to the nation’s development,” Dr. Phu stated.
The ceremony concluded in a spirit of pride and celebration, opening a new chapter for the eight doctoral graduates as they embark on the next stage of their academic and professional careers. Their achievements stand as a testament to VIOIT’s commitment to excellence in research, education, and policy development, contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s industry and trade sector in an era of rapid transformation.
