On the afternoon of 25 June 2026, the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade (VIOIT) convened the Institute-level acceptance review of the research assignment entitled "Solutions to Strengthen Trade Promotion for the Halal Industry Towards 2030, with a Vision to 2035" at its headquarters at 17 Yet Kieu Street, Hanoi.
The research assignment was led by Ms. Hoang Thi Huong Lan, M.A., of the Market Forecasting Department.
The Institute-level Review Panel was established pursuant to Decision No. 866/QD-CLCS, issued on 22 June 2026. The Panel was chaired by Dr. Do Quang, VIOIT, and included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan To Uyen, National Economics University, as Reviewer 1; Dr. Lam Tuan Hung, VIOIT, as Reviewer 2; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Kim Ngoc, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, as Member; Mr. Phan The Quyet, M.A., VIOIT, as Member; Ms. Nguyen Khanh Linh, M.A., VIOIT, as Member; and Dr. Hoang Truong, VIOIT, as Secretary. The review session was also attended by experts, researchers, and representatives of the Institute's departments.
On behalf of the research team, Ms. Hoang Thi Huong Lan presented the principal findings of the study. The report provides an overview of the Halal industry's development and international experience in trade promotion, offers an in-depth assessment of trade promotion activities for the Halal sector during the 2021–2025 period, and proposes policy orientations and practical solutions to strengthen trade promotion for the Halal industry through 2030, with a vision to 2035.
In its assessment, the Review Panel recognized the assignment as a well-structured and rigorously conducted research project with strong practical relevance. The study closely follows the approved research framework while incorporating recent domestic and international developments. It provides valuable international lessons for Viet Nam and presents a comprehensive assessment of current trade promotion activities, covering strategic planning aligned with export development, the organization of trade promotion programmes, and the allocation of resources to support Halal enterprises. The Panel also noted that the proposed policy orientations and recommendations are well grounded in both scientific evidence and practical feasibility.
In addition to its positive evaluation, the Panel recommended several revisions to further improve the final report, including the correction of technical and editorial issues and the provision of a more detailed explanation of the conditions required for implementing the proposed recommendations in order to enhance their practical applicability.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Do Quang, Chair of the Review Panel, expressed his appreciation for the constructive, objective, and insightful comments provided by the reviewers and other panel members. Following the discussion, the Panel unanimously voted to officially approve and accept the research assignment, subject to revisions in accordance with the Panel's recommendations.
