Acceptance meeting held for research project on promoting the development of inter-regional wholesale markets

On the morning of April 10, 2026, in Hanoi, the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade held an acceptance meeting for the project entitled “Survey and Research Program on connecting traders, farmers, cooperatives, farms, gardens and suppliers in selected provinces and cities to promote the development of inter-regional wholesale markets.” The project was led by MSc. Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang from the Market Forecasting Department.

The Council for Evaluation and Acceptance was established under Decision No. 364/QD-CLCS dated April 3, 2026 and chaired by Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuyen from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade. Council members included Dr. Do Quang from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade, Reviewer 1; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Tuyet Mai from the National Economics University, Reviewer 2; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Dat from the University of Commerce, Member; Dr. Hoang Truong from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade, Member; MSc. Do Van Long from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade, Member; and Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hien from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade, Council Secretary.

The meeting was also attended by experts, scientists, leaders of departments under the Institute, and members of the research team.

On behalf of the research team, MSc. Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, project leader, presented a summary of the project’s main findings. The report consisted of three parts: general issues related to the development of inter-regional agricultural wholesale markets; the current status of inter-regional agricultural wholesale market development in the South Central Coast region during the 2020–2024 period; and perspectives, orientations and solutions for developing inter-regional agricultural wholesale markets in the South Central Coast region through 2030, with a vision to 2035.

During the discussion, Council members highly appreciated the project’s thorough research process, close adherence to the approved outline, clear presentation and updated analytical data. The project was assessed as having effectively clarified the current development of inter-regional agricultural wholesale markets in the South Central Coast region during the 2020–2024 period, including key influencing factors, achievements, limitations and their underlying causes.

On that basis, the project proposed a set of comprehensive solutions with clear arguments, ensuring both rationality and practical applicability. In addition to recognising the project’s strengths, Council members also provided comments and recommendations for the research team to further improve the report. These included clarifying the inter-regional characteristics of wholesale market development, supplementing the theoretical basis for connectivity among relevant stakeholders, and adding broader orientations for the development of inter-regional agricultural wholesale markets at both national and international levels.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuyen, Chairman of the Council, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Council members and scientists for their insightful, detailed and constructive comments. All Council members present unanimously agreed to approve the project for official acceptance, subject to revisions, and requested the research team to incorporate the Council’s feedback in order to revise and complete the project as soon as possible.
